About the Role – Design Engineer

Civilarch is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer who can develop accurate design drawings, technical details, and construction-ready documentation for architectural, interior, and civil projects. The role involves close coordination with architects, interior designers, site engineers, and project teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and executable.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, proficiency in design software, and the ability to translate concepts into precise drawings while maintaining quality, timelines, and project standards.

Job Responsibilities – Design Engineer

Design Development & Drafting

Prepare detailed design drawings including plans, sections, elevations, and construction details based on project requirements, concepts, and specifications.

Technical Drawings & Documentation

Develop accurate working drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings required for execution and approvals. Ensure clarity, precision, and completeness in all technical documentation.

Coordination with Design Teams

Collaborate with architects, interior designers, structural consultants, and MEP teams to integrate design inputs and resolve technical conflicts.

Software & Tools Utilization

Use design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other relevant tools to produce high-quality drawings and design outputs. Maintain drawing standards and version control.

Design Review & Revisions

Revise and update drawings based on internal reviews, client feedback, and site requirements while ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.

Site Support & Technical Assistance

Provide technical clarifications to site engineers and contractors. Support execution teams by addressing design-related queries and resolving drawing discrepancies.

Standards & Compliance

Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.

BOQ & Quantity Support

Assist in preparing quantity take-offs, BOQs, and material estimates based on approved drawings to support costing and procurement.

Quality Control & Accuracy

Maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency across all design outputs. Verify drawings before issue to avoid errors during execution.

Coordination with Vendors & Consultants

Coordinate with vendors and consultants for design inputs, shop drawing approvals, and technical alignment during project execution.

Problem Solving & Design Optimization

Identify design challenges and propose practical, cost-effective, and efficient solutions without compromising design intent.

Documentation & Record Keeping

Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, approvals, and design documentation for future reference.

Professional Development

Continuously update technical knowledge, software skills, and awareness of industry standards and best practices in design engineering.
